Lauren Ogie has submitted the following from her new series:
"I hand made the floral headbands in these photos. There is both digital and film prints. The film photos were taken on a Yashica
Twin Lens camera, with 120mm Ecktachrome slide film. With my work, I try to make each photo shoot I do unique."
"I wanted to take these photos in a desolate area with lots of browns, so that the flowers would really stand out. I had her wear a lace dress so that she appeared elegant. I didn't want these photos to appear with the frosted over-exposed bright look that you see that most floral headband photos have. Another unique thing I did with this photo shoot is edit each photo separately at a different time, so that in a sense each photo would be it's own separate photo with a different look, to give a different feeling to the viewer. Some are more bright and colorful and others are dark and with little vibrance."
Lauren is an 18 year old photographer in the San Diego Area. With her photography, she focuses on mainly using people as her primary focus point in the photos. She tries to make the location, outfits, hair, make up, pose, model, facial expression all add to the photo. She recently has done a few photos where the point of them is to be impacting and have a real message to them and then others are interpretations.
